GUEST BLOGGER: JAMES GRISSOM . DETONATE YOUTH LEADER
"after we pulled an all-nighter bus ride into the middle of the mojave desert, we somehow managed to reach a vast body of water. This was no mirage, no! This was LAKE MEAD!!! there we went off with four giant house boats filled with 70 teenagers just itching to spend the rest of the week having as much fun as possible!
we arrived and anchored up into a cove of our own and partied every day with swimming, snorkeling, water-sliding, water balloon fights (followed by spaghetti sauce fights), tubing, wake boarding, food, games, friends, laughing, everything! then when the sun went down we had our night services on the side of a hill where we worshiped and experienced God like we never have before.
lives were changed, new friendships were made, and teenagers gained a vision to go back home and make an impact in their schools!"
*big shoutout to vitamin water for helping to sponsor our summer camp
9 hours in a bus. blastin' justin bieber. life is good
mmmmm... vitamin water good!
summer camp wasn't just fun in the sun, every night there was acoustic worship, preaching, and ministry time.
...or in a more manageable timeframe, five years in fifteen minutes. we get a look back at how our church started and how God has really blessed us over these past five years.
we hear some testimonies from those within our church that have been here since day one as well as talk in depth with pastors jurgen + leanne matthesius about their journey and what they see for the future of our church
*we also get some encouraging "happy birthday" greetings from those that have ministered in our church and have really helped shape the culture of what c3 san diego is
every summer we have a night specifically for our cherish ladies and this year we were honored to have lisa bevere with us for this memorable night! with almost 300 ladies in attendance, the place was packed and the air was electric with anticipation even before we opened the doors to let all the beautiful ladies in. from the powerful praise + worship to the fabulously extravagant giveaways the night was setup for success even before lisa got up to speak.
with all that being said, lisa's message was so inspiring and just her presence and the way she was able to relate to the women really brought the night to another level. ps. leanne and the cherish team did such a great job and the lives impacted are a true testament to that.
don't miss out on our cherish conference coming up in october. check out the promo video at the bottom of this post, and click here for more info.
interns. in our church culture they're not just coffee-wranglers and copy machine aficionados, they're doing real world stuff that's making a difference in the community as well as furthering the main thing which is the message of Christ. in the past few months we've added five new interns that have a passion for God and just so happen to be ridiculously good looking. we asked them questions. they gave us answers. enjoy = )
if you're interested in the c3 internship, click here to apply today, or email us for more info.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A CCC INTERN?
i love being used by God in a way no one else is. being and intern is a special job anyone can do, but not everyone does. i also like the random "little" tasks that are given to us interns that make us really think as a team/family. i'm learning there is always room to grow.

the "hands on" learning experience that you don't get from bible college!
our worship band, house red, recently had the honor of playing the main stage at spirit west coast here in san diego. there's really not much else to say. they rocked it. hard.
it's amazing to think that our c3 church movement was birthed 30 years ago, and the fact that hundreds of churches have been planted around the world since then! we are so privileged to be a part of this and we know that the sky's the limit. this video gives a look back into how everything started, where we've been, and where the c3 movement is going. enjoy!
we know we all love our dads, but we thought there were a couple other pertinent questions that usually don't get asked. well....we asked 'em, and got some interesting answers. enjoy = )
every year at ccc, we have a month fully devoted to our rise & build campaign. pastor jurgen's theme for this year was "the time has come" and each week's message focused on sacrifice, vision, and building the future. the month culminated on rise & build sunday where everyone was able to make their pledge and give into the vision of our church for 2010 and 2011.
once the service ended, everyone flooded outside for a celebration party with catered authentic mexican food, a jousting ring, a carnival tea-cup ride, free massages by massage envy, and jerry "hot rod" demink and his band performing live. it was definitely a day of celebration as everyone toasted (with apple cider) and thanked God as we saw over $800,000 pledged so far. we're definitely excited for what God's going to do through ccc and reaching san diego with the hope of salvation!
big thanks to all our volunteers who gave of their time and effort to make this an unforgettable day. thanks as well to our event photographer, julie cannon.
'round and 'round we go. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
who wants boring food when you can have your taco constructed before your eyes in a dazzling, acrobatical fashion?
big shoutout to massage envy for their tension-releasing magicalness! it was like five minutes in heaven...
jerry and his band doin' their thang!
groowwrrrr. *believe it or not, jerry wears the helmet so he can stand on his head and shred the guitar at the same time. it was very hendrix-esque.
thanks to all those who gave into our rise & build this year. we salute you!
SUPERCALIFRAGALISTICEXPEALID-AWESOME!!! live band, puppet shows, full-on production with actors and props, and most important - GOD! these are just a few of the things that you'll find every week at our kidz church. we were able to snap some spiffy photos on easter sunday and catch a little glimpse into the crazy world of ccc kidz! enjoy!
blue jello, the kidz church worship band, whips everyone into a jumping frenzy while at the same time helping the kids release a little bit of their wiggles.
jesse is a drum legend
every week, kidz church has skits and puppet shows that are based around a character theme (ie. the flintstones, robin hood, james bond, back to the future, indiana jones, etc.). this curriculum allows the kids to learn about God and biblical characteristics in a fun and entertaining way.
this is hudson. he will one day be the greatest male model in the world. but for now he melts faces with his iresistable cuteness.
